Las Vegas

What happens in vegas stays in vegas

I’ve been going to Vegas for as long as I can remember. Literally I have a picture of me as a baby in my mom’s arms going down the log ride at Buffalo Bills. As I’ve grown up, I’ve always loved Vegas: the lights, the food, the drinks, the clubs, the sun, the desert. Sure Vegas is full of debauchery, but I find magic in this city of lights. Being a short 4 hour car ride from LA, I’ve been to Vegas 2-3 times a year ever since I turned 21. Sometimes it’s a galpal YOLO trip planned two weeks ahead of time, other times it’s for a music festival like EDC or Life is Beautiful, other times it’s to eat, gamble, shop, and relax by the pool with my family. I’ve done Vegas every way you can and that’s why I think there is something for everyone.

Best hotel hands down! Great location so you can walk everywhere, not directly attached to a casino so it is a little calmer, has it’s own small taxi line so it is super easy to grab a ride. I would recommend anyone coming to Vegas to stay here.

MGM Grand

Also a great location! If you are planning on gambling or clubbing, you really never even have to leave the hotel! The regular pool even has a lazy river.

Caesar’s Palace

Great food, gambling, and central to all the actions! Also featured in The Hangover…what’s not to love!

Family Trip

Medieval themed hotel with a Medieval Times show, full on carnival style games, and family fun restaurants!

New York New York

New York themed hotel with great food (Shake Shack!!), rides, and pool. Great for the kiddos!

A little ways off the strip so it is away from all the hustle and bustle. Awesome pool and you must try the Garbage Nachos at Guy Fieri’s restaurant!

Wynn & Encore

Beautiful hotels inside and out. Would love to stay here some day!!

Seriously the best hotel ever! Great location, balconies overlooking the street, amazing dining options (try Secret Pizza), and it doesn’t smell like casino and smoke! Make sure to grab a drink at the central chandelier bar!

Great hotel a little ways down the strip but it is worth it for the price!

My favorite “save hotel!” Perfect central location, great pool, onsite eats and gambling. Has that old school Vegas feel.

So I am truly not the best to ask for recommendations on where to eat since I either eat super quick bites when I go with my friends or my family & I go to the same places we love. But I’ve listed a few good places to check out if you are in Vegas!

Taco Bell Cantina

I know…why would I go to Taco Bell in Vegas?! But I always do and you should too! This isn’t your average Taco Bell…it is two stories, has a cool vibe, sells alcohol, and has a DJ! It’s perfect after a long night of dancing at a club!

Secret Pizza

Best pizza in Vegas and the fun part about it is you have to find it! There is no location on a map or a sign outside the restaurant. I’ll give you a hint…it is located somewhere in the Cosmo!

Super yummy burger place in the Cosmo! Has cute decor and yummy food! Try one of their boozy milkshakes!

In-N-Out @ The LINQ

For all my out of towners, you have to go to In-N-Out! It’s like a staple! This location is located in the super cool LINQ promenade and has a super retro diner feel. Must stop in for animal fries and burgers!

Gordon Ramsy Burger

I’ve  never been here but heard it is so yummy! Located in Planet Hollywood, it has a cool ambiance and delicious burgers!

Mona Mi Gabi

My personal favorite restaurant in Vegas. Located on the sidewalk of the strip outside of the Paris Hotel, get their early in the morning to skip the line and people watch. You can even see the Bellagio fountains!

Earl of Sandwich

A hangover or drunk staple! Best sandwiches and the location in Planet Hollywood is open 24/7 so make sure to stop by after the club or a show!

Shake Shack

My personal favorite burger on the planet. I just love Shake Shack! The location is located in New York New York (fitting right) and is a must see if you’re in the area!

Hash House A Go Go

Two words: HUGE PORTIONS. If you are hungry in Vegas stop by Hash House! You won’t be disappointed…or hungry again for a couple of hours!

El Burro Borracho

Located off the strip at the Rio, I dragged my family here after seeing a video on Facebook of the trashcan nachos! They did not disappoint and this restaurant was super yummy!

HEXX Kitchen & Bar

Another restaurant situated right on the strip…great for people watching any time of the day!

Fat Tuesday

No food served here…just delicious frozen drinks! They have locations throughout the strip and if you bring back your cup, you get a discount! Pro tip: extra shots are only $1 each, just be careful!! My fav is the Bloody Smurf!

Nacho Daddy

Can you tell I love Nachos? I am always on the search for the best nachos and this place did not disappoint. Endless combinations of delicious nachos!!

Omnia Nightclub

Best Nightclub in Vegas in my opinion. Best EDM DJ’s & an outdoor terrace overlooking the strip.

Wet Republic Dayclub

Best Dayclub! Chill atmosphere before 3PM-plenty of room to dance or go in the pool. Best frozen drinks.

Hakassan Nightclub

The nightclubs of all nightclubs. Multi-levels and so much fun.

Encore Beachclub

Where are the cool people go to be seen. Plus side is they have a kitchen!

XS Nightclub

Great vibes, beautiful views of the Wynn & Encore hotels.

Drais Dayclub

For all my R&B & Hiphop lovers. Fun atmosphere on top of a roof.

I’ve personally been to the three festivals below, but I know there are many more!

Life is Beautiful

3 day festival on the streets of Downtown Las Vegas. Variety of music, good food, comedy shows, and beautiful art.

EDC-Electric Daisy Carnival

One of the biggest EDM festivals in the world. A unique, out of this world experience.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience. If you’ve seen Tangled, then picture the scene where they all release the floating lanterns. Gives me chills every time. Now imagine that in real life with 10,000 people in the middle of the desert. Truly a magical experience that is hard to describe in words. I highly recommend everyone attend once in their lives.

Shows & Residencies

I honestly haven’t been to many shows in Vegas and I know that is the main reason a lot of people travel to Sin City. So I would recommend doing your research on what interests you. They have all types of shows to variety acts, comedy shows, burlesque shows, circus shows, the list goes on and on. There are plenty of places on the strip that will give you all the info and will even offer discount prices. Don’t fret if you don’t have anything planned before you travel, odds are you will be just fine booking same day!

If you haven’t heard about all the musical residencies popping up in Vegas lately…have you been living under a rock?! JK…but seriously it seems like every musical act is lining up to have a residency in Vegas. From Brittany Spears, Gwen Stefani, the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga…the list goes on and on. Make sure to check your dates before booking as a lot of them don’t perform everyday and will only be in Vegas for a short period of time!

The shopping in Vegas is amazing! Whether you are looking for a great deal or want to splurge majorly, Vegas has something for you. Even if you’re not a high roller (girl neither am I!) you can still browse around some of these amazing shopping centers…they are so beautiful.

Vegas Outlet Stores North & South

These are the creme de la creme of outlet stores and should not be missed! I personally love the North outlets better and can wander around for hours looking at all the deals. They have so many stores from Coach, BCBG, Burberry, David Yurman, Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Loft…the list goes on and on!

Miracle Miles Shops

My personal favorite shopping center located inside the Planet Hollywood. Normally while my dad and boyfriend gamble, my mom and I will be shopping! They have so many great stores turned up to the max Vegas style. The H&M is amazing and they have fun stores like Alex & Ani, Chinese Laundry, NYX, and Drybar!

Shops at Caesars Palace

This is where you want to go if you are ready to splurge! They have all the designer spots but also a lot of affordable options as well. This mall is gorgeous and is worth walking around for fun. I love to window shop so this place never disappoints!

Fashion Show Mall

This is a great mall if you forgot to pack something and are on the more South end of the strip. They have every chain store your heart could desire in a chic shopping center!

Grand Canal Shoppes

Another beautiful mall to window shop all the luxury options! The Grand Canal Shoppes are just gorgeous to walk around-you can even take a gondola ride!

I’m not a huge gambler but after countless times watching my boyfriend win big when we visit Vegas, I jumped on that train real fast! I personally like to play Blackjack, video Craps, and sometimes slot machines. I’m normally pretty lucky and on my 21st birthday I won $300 on one pull of a slot machine…I was pretty happy!

My advice is gambling can be really fun but if you don’t win, don’t let it ruin the rest of your time! Go to Vegas with a set amount you are willing to spend/lose and stick to it. Also, take advantage of the free drinks while you play, might as well  get something right!

Neon Museum

Such a fun unique thing to do in Vegas! Do you remember all the old, flashy Vegas signs? Well as the strip has modernized and changed, these signs were thrown to the side. This museum collected all the beautiful art, restored them, and put them in an outdoor museum for you to walk around and view. It was so fun to learn about the history and have a chance to see these legendary signs.

Downtown Las Vegas

Ready to get away from all the strip action?! Downtown Las Vegas still has the old Vegas charm and is more lowkey. Cheaper drinks, chill people, cool hotels, and
